This week’s Product Pop-Up is one of my all time favorite snacks. I literally LOVE this product. Without further ado – this week I am highlighting Siggi’s Icelandic-style Yogurt. Hang on your handbags because this stuff is the realest deal out there. It is so tasty and a really good snack that works with my lifestyle these days. Now, as far as yogurts go – this is about as REAL as food gets. There are only about 5 ingredients in each container of yogurt. This is important to me because it means that it is not filled with additives, preservatives, and other crappy stuff that is not good for us. I hate it when I’m eating a low fat/low cal yogurt and tapioca starch is listed on the ingredients. I did a lot of label reading and found out that the main stream yogurts that are some of the most popular brands….are hardly yogurt at all. I can only fit so much into my tiny tummy – I want that stuff to be good eats!!
Siggi’s is the real deal.
Because the yogurt is real – you are going to have some carbs. That being said – they sweeten with cane sugar and not fake sugars. That is something I am OK with as long as the product is real and NOT loaded with lots of crappy stuff. I am OK with eating some carbs – plus, the amount of protein in this container makes me smile!! The stats for this product are as follows: 120 calories, 0 fat – depending on the flavor you chose, 14g carbs, and 16g protein. These stats do make my carb count go up for the day – but the healthy and happy outweighs the carb count for me.
Now….of course – I can not buy Siggi’s here in Machias. So, I have a friend – Colleen – grab me some when she is in the big city of Bangor. You can purchase them at Hannaford, Shaws, and Target. I am not going lie – Siggi’s is a bit expensive – but it’s worth every penny for me. Recently, Shaws has been running a sale weekly selling Siggi’s 3 for $5.00. I have seem them for as much as $1.56 a piece at Whole Foods (I still love Whole Foods!)
There are many flavors of Siggi’s avaialble – I tend to stick with the 0% fat and my favorite is Raspberry. For 2% fat – I love coconut and black cherry. I would LOVE to get my hands on the Spiced Pear flavor though….anyone out there have that in their local stores – send one to me!!
As always – I was not asked by Siggi’s to write this review – I simply love this product and want to share it with you. I hope you will try it out because I know you will enjoy it. I will warn you – if you are eating inferior yogurt – you might have to build your way up to Siggi’s – it’s the real deal!!
